Cookie Policy
In compliance with the Provision of the Italian Data Protection Authority dated 8 May 2014 concerning cookies, we provide users with information on the cookies that our site may use, the purposes for which they are used, and how cookies can be disabled through the browser.
We inform you that by default almost all web browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. Disabling or deleting cookies may prevent the optimal use of some areas of the site or compromise the use of certain services.
Cookies are small text files that the website server stores on users’ computers or mobile devices. Each cookie constitutes unique information for the web browser: it contains some anonymous information, such as a unique identifier, the name of the site and some digits and numbers.
The aim of using cookies is to ensure ease of use of the site and to allow us to improve it. The explanation provided below illustrates in more detail the different types of cookies and their related purposes.
Use of cookies
Our site may use cookies, some of which are necessary for the proper functioning of the site, while others are useful to the visitor, such as those that store the username, language, etc. The advantage of having cookies installed on your computer is that you no longer need to fill in the same information every time you wish to access a site visited previously. Other cookies present on the website may collect anonymous statistical data in aggregated form on visitors and the pages visited on our site.
The purpose is to improve the experience offered by our site to visitors. We may use the information provided by cookies to analyze trends or for research and marketing purposes, in order to continuously improve our site. Cookies do not make available information that personally identifies users. Our site may require the use of cookies to take advantage of all its features. In this case, if cookies are disabled, browsing may not be optimal.
Types of cookies and functionality
Below is a list of the most common types of cookies and the purposes for which they are used.
Session cookies and functionality cookies
Session cookies are temporarily stored in the memory of the user’s computer while browsing a site; they are used to transmit the session identifiers necessary to allow safe and efficient browsing of the site, for example to keep track of the chosen language or to remember the visitor’s preferences or what is in the shopping cart. Session cookies remain stored on the computer for a short period of time. They are in fact deleted as soon as the user closes the browser. The functionality cookies used by the site are strictly necessary for the use of the site; in particular they are linked to an explicit request for functionality by the user (such as login or completion of the contact form).
Persistent or tracking cookies
Persistent cookies save a file on the computer for a long period of time. This type of cookie has an expiration date. Persistent cookies allow websites to remember information and settings during subsequent user visits, thus making browsing more practical and easier because, for example, it is not necessary to log in each time. On the expiration date, the cookie is automatically deleted.
Flash cookies
Where present, Flash cookies are data that may be stored on the computer by websites that use Adobe Flash. These cookies offer a new method for tracking movements and storing a quantity of information about the user. Almost all web browsers have a Flash player used to display Flash presentations. An example of Flash is the video player on YouTube. There is no time limit for Flash cookies. They therefore remain stored until they are deleted. To prevent the storage of Flash cookies, simply access General Storage Settings and disable the option “Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer.”
First-party cookies
These cookies are set by the website itself and are set by the same domain as the website. Such cookies can only be read by that site. They are commonly used to store information such as preferences, to be used on subsequent visits to the site.
Third-party cookies
These cookies are set by domains different from the one indicated in the browser address bar, that is, by parties other than the owners of the website.
Cookies used, for example, to collect information for advertising and content personalization purposes, as well as to process statistics, may be “third-party cookies”. Third-party cookies allow more complete surveys of users’ browsing habits and are considered more sensitive from the integrity point of view. For this reason, most browsers allow cookie settings to be changed so that these cookies are not accepted.
Third-party cookies may be present on our site, used to provide visitors with additional services and features and to improve the use of the site itself, such as social buttons, chat, widgets, etc.
This privacy policy does not apply to services provided by third parties, and this site has no control over their cookies, which are entirely managed by the third parties. The data transfer agreement takes place directly between the user/visitor and the third parties; therefore, the acquisition of consent for such cookies is the responsibility of the third parties, while this site does not in any way participate in such transfer. Consequently, information on the use of such cookies and on their purposes, as well as on how they may be disabled, is provided directly by the third parties as set out below.
